Building A Web Presence
Just because you have a website does not mean you have a web presence it only means you own an address on the internet’s vast real estate. Many people believe because they have a website attached to a business this is a web presence which in a way is true but not necessarily a real presence. It is more web existence than a presence. A real web presence is letting people know where your piece of web real estate is or let us say your spot in another person’s address book or where people know where you exist on the web. In another words your spot in other people’s online address book better known as Social Media.

You need to direct traffic to you because you are the driving force to your business and you are the one that gives out the invitations to see what you provide in products or services.
People Like To Deal With People Not Necessarily Companies Or Websites!
What you need to realize is that people come across websites all the time and if these websites are not identified with a person they are familiar with those sites are likely to be ignored. These are better known as company websites or cookie cutter Websites. Which comes down to how are you directing people to a cookie cutter website designed by the company or are you directing prospects to your website with what you have to offer your prospects? Is your website designed by you so people know you the person they know and trust and may want to do business with?
People who are successful on the web today are the people who are constantly learning how to market themselves on the internet instead of the product or services they are trying to sell. Good Marketers are always updating ways to get people attracted to them and what they can do for the customer or client first making the customer or client more comfortable in working with them. In other words, “How do the products or services help the individual you are seeking as the customer? What benefits are in it for the customer?”
These are the questions that get answered by personal branding and not by the business or service as a brand. Personal Branding is when the customer knows you by familiarizing you with them by creating a rapport and trust by having a way to attract and communicate with the customer. This method is the most effective even if these communications seem one sided the concept is making your customer feel comfortable with you. This method is called pre-qualifying your prospect so you can concentratate your efforts on the prospects that want to work with you instead of waisting your efforts on those with no interest in what you have to offer.
There are many ways you can build a web presence but the true secret is to be able to hold a prospect or a customer’s attention by putting you ahead of your sales gaining confidence in you, then bring the value of your offer to your customer or prospect.
Hard Sales is a Method of the Past where Building Your Authority is the way to "Sales in the Future"!
Some of the ways you can start building a rapport with others is through forums where you begin to build trust. Then in the process of building trust you may want to send your prospect to a capture or landing page where you can get there information. That means you will have to set up an auto responder to hold their interest with a blog or a newsletter and then to a personal website to see who you are and what you are all about as well as direct them to any sales pages of interest. Another great way is to have a press release. Press releases build instant trust and are an excellent way to gain the respect of potential new customers and clients. The web makes this easy for you to do.
